Fish represent perhaps the earliest and simplest examples of how the vertebrate auditory system detects and identifies biologically relevant sounds that are critical for survival. Dr. Sisneros will discuss origins of hearing and the ear and what can be learned about hearing from the Plainfin Midshipman Fish.
